Spring 2026 · Distillation №14
Botanicals,
distilled.
Plant-led skincare, formulated by a botanist and a dermatologist. Each ingredient traced to a named farm — and printed on every bottle.
The four-step ritual
Four products. No fillers.
We make four things. Each one tested on a panel of 41 sensitivity-prone participants, published with its data, and labeled with every named farm we used.
Rose & Geranium Cleanser
$38150 ml
A cold-pressed cleansing oil with damask rose and Egyptian geranium — emulsifies on contact with water.
Adaptogen Serum
$7230 ml
A 2% reishi + bakuchiol concentrate. Smooths and evens without the irritation of retinol.
Hyaluronic Mist
$28100 ml
A four-weight hyaluronic acid mist. Plumps surface skin without sitting on top of it.
Mineral SPF 50
$4650 ml
Non-nano zinc oxide 22%. Broad spectrum, reef-safe, no white cast even on deeper skin tones.
Four steps
An order, not a rule.
Cleanse
Cold-pressed botanical oils and surfactants milder than the water you wash them off with.
Treat
Targeted actives — adaptogens, peptides, retinal — formulated for sensitivity-prone skin.
Hydrate
Multi-weight hyaluronic acids and beta-glucan to plump without occluding.
Sun
Mineral, broad-spectrum, reef-safe. Tested daily under real Mediterranean sun.
The atelier
A botanist and a dermatologist.
Plate & Stem was founded in 2022 by Dr. Anja Reuter, an ethnobotanist who spent eleven years cataloguing medicinal plants for the University of Lugano, and Dr. Stefan Bauer, a board-certified dermatologist with a private practice in Zurich.
We grow nothing ourselves. We work with five named farms — Hervé Rohart in Grasse, Estancia Verdana in Andalucía, Bos van Brielle in Holland — and three university labs.
The longer story →“A serum is a piece of chemistry. We just want the chemistry to come from a plant whose grower we know by name.”
— Dr. Anja Reuter · Co-founder, Ethnobotanist
A standing note
New distillations, documented.
A quarterly note from the lab. New batches, new sourcing, and the occasional plant we are still trying to formulate around.
